Map-based Reporting: Custom Studies

Georgia 2000 allows registered users to draw Custom Studies right on the map to create reportable ring studies. Custom Studies can also be saved, deleted and then restored at a later date. Read below for a description of the Custom Study tools.

The Mark Location tool will let you place a marker anywhere on the map. First click on the Mark Location button and then click on the map where you would like to place the marker. Be sure to zoom in, in order to see the marker.

As soon as you place the marker, the Custom Study window will appear the walk you through creating a Custom Study: you can decide to draw a Study Area (which you define with a radius and will appear on the map as a bright green circle) and run reports. If you decide to run reports here, the Reports window will appear, in which you can choose the reports to see for your new Study Area.

You can run a report from your Custom Studies at any time by selecting a marker or Study Area circle and then clicking the See Reports button. Just follow the instructions in the window that appears in order to launch reports.

If the Custom Study or Report window does not appear, check to see if it is hidden under some other window open on your screen.

NOTE: Report results from Custom Studies do not correspond exactly with the circles that are drawn on the map. These circles are used to select underlying geography; therefore, reporting from Custom Studies may not be consistent. For more precise control over the reported areas, make selections from standard map features (i.e., Census Block Groups, Zip Codes, etc.) and click the See Reports button.

This tool lets you delete any Study markers or circles that you have drawn. First select the individual markers and circles on the map and then click the Delete Studies button.

Click this button to save all your Custom Studies as they appear on the map. These will be available when you return later the to site and log in. When you save studies, all of your previous saved studies will be erased: the Save Studies button saves only what circles and markers are currently on the map.

Clicking on the Restore Studies button will redraw all of your studies as you saved them previously.
